Medical Netcare GmbH
Management in health care
MNC – Medical Netcare
GmbH is a scientific Contract Research Organisation (CRO), which was founded at the beginning of 1999 by Dipl. Volkswirt (economist) Frank Potthoff
and Dr. rer. nat. Christof Münscher. Currently, MNC employs staff originating from the areas of medicine, natural science, economics and IT while
it maintains close collaborations with scientific faculties, medical societies and associations.
Current focuses are on the following tasks:
- the scientific evaluation of national disease management programs (DMP) on Diabetes mellitus type 1 and 2, breast cancer, coronary heart disease, bronchial asthma and COPD on behalf of German health care associations (members of vdek, Betriebskrankenkassen, Innungskrankenkassen), which started in 2003,
- the scientific evaluation of the integrated care (Integrierte Versorgung; IGV) Rheinland on behalf of several German health care associations (AOK Rheinland/Hamburg, IKK Nordrhein, Knappschaft, Landwirtschaftliche Krankenkasse NRW, Krankenkasse für den Gartenbau, KKH) since 2007, and
- since 2007, the data analysis QA-dialysis by order of the common self-administration in health care (Gemeinsamer Bundesausschuss).
Furthermore, we engage in project and data management of software-based clinical trial, in particular regarding chronical diseases such as Diabetes mellitus. Apart from investigator driven studies (e.g. TEMPO-Studie®, VISION-Studie®) we provide remittance work, predominantly concerning health or pharma-economic matters.
Software tools, like Chro-Dok® and modules building up on this tool, are developped and constantly revised within our company.
Besides, we designed one of the first grouper-software-solutions for ambulant diabetology. Taking into consideration secondary disorders and other
comorbidities, almost every patient can be classified within diabetes-specific risk profiles.

For the indication Diabetes mellitus, findings are based on the TEMPO-Studie®, which was taken up as a pure observational study (Zensus) in 2000 and aims at the scientific evaluation of a so far unique and complete clinical and economic mapping of the specialized treatment of Diabetes mellitus. After 12 months, more than 6.500 diabetics had already been thoroughly recorded within the TEMPO-Studie®. |
Beyond mere observational study, as the TEMPO-Studie®, our pharma-economic studies (MNC-System-Studien) provide concretely comparative results for questions of efficacy and economic efficiency of the analyzed options for intervention.
The concept of pharma-economic studies realized up until now contains a prospective comparison of parallel groups in differentiated strategies of intervention and supplies precisely comparative results for efficacy and economic efficiency of the analyzed interventions.
Hence, the MNC-System-Studie coins the data completion to even enable the consideration of economic aspects of standardized proposed therapies within the scope of guidelines.
